Nirozal and hair loss

Sometimes called Nirozall, it is a shampoo. There are tablets available , but these can be toxic, unlike the shampoo. In ht eU.K. it will need a prescription, but is obtainable elsewhere without one.The active ingredient in Nirozal is ketoconazole, a plant derivative. A 21 month study has found that it is almost as effective as 2 %  Minoxidil in restoring hair growth in cases of androgenetic alopecia ( i.e. male or female pattern hair loss. It is the most popular shampoo for those with hair loss. If not available Tgel is a good alternative, but Nirozal would be the product of first choice. It is suggested that it is used every three days. Despite being an anti inflammatory  in a few cases over use may cause a form of acne on the scalp. I tis suitable  for both men and women who have androgenetic alopecia, whether or not this is accompanied by obvious inflammation. There is some debate as to whether androgenitc alopecia and scalp inflammation are part of the same condition or whether they are two separate conditions that just happen to occur frequently together. Either way this type of shampoo seems to be effective. Many other treatments, such as Propecia, Tricomin and Rogaine,  do not claim to be anti inflammatory.

Nirozal will not work for every one, but those who do have positive effects ( over half according to regrowth.com) seem very satisfied. One way of using it is to use daily for four days, leaving it on the scalp for 5 minutes before rinsing. On the fifth day use a selenium based shampoo, such as head and Shoulders. This seems to be really effective in those whose loss is caused by the use of steroids, and is more effective in younger, rather than older people. It is relatively inexpensive as compared to some other treatments, so why not try it first?
