Shampoo for alopecia

There are a number of shampoos on the market , but read the claims carefully. Some claim to give you healthy, glossy hair, but make no promises about hair regrowth. It is not much use having healthy hair if there is almost none to be healthy. One shampoo for instance claims that the average user will see regrowth after a few weeks, but this is a rather vague claim. Also it claims to work in both alopecia areata and alopecia androgenetica – too different conditions with different causes. It used different ways of measuring male and female loss so that it is very difficult to assess their claims. This is only one company, but it is typical of many. Closer examination of the figures revealed that  about 20% of users with alopecia androgenetica ( male pattern baldness) felt it helped, which is better than none.
